I have had to wear compression gear for over a decade due to some old sports injuries, a bad hip and bursitis. So, through the years have tried a number of brands, expensive, and inexpensive, that offered the right amount of support. So, in my real-life, non-scientific trials of various brands here are my questions for you.

1. Does your compression gear offer the right amount of support?

2. Is your compression gear comfortable?

3. Is your compression gear durable?

4. When you wear your compression gear do you find yourself adjusting or tugging because you are in a bind?

Because of the above questions arising when I tried other brands of compression gear, I was reluctant to try Compression Z’s 9” men’s shorts. I order a pair fully expecting to add to the pile of failed attempts to find the right fit, feel and performance.

When the shorts arrived, I rinsed them out; while I was hopeful, I still had reservations about my purchase. The next morning when I woke my hip was bothering me; this isn’t anything too unusual. So, I showered and slipped my Compression Z’s. The first thing I noticed was the support. It was there, but it wasn’t too much like the pair of cross compression shorts I have. As I was walking around, I noticed my hip was not hurting. While supporting my hip these shorts were very comfortable. I thought it was great my Z’s passed the 15-minute test without giving up the support or comfort.

As the day wore on, I noticed that I was not tugging at some part of the short or making some sort of an adjustment to avoid a potentially bad binding situation. The waist band didn’t roll, and it didn’t feel like a rope tied tight around my waist. This was a different experience, even better than some compression gear that I really liked.

I have worn my shorts several times, machine washed in cold, line dry, and they still feel brand new. This is the way a compression product should feel, new every time you wear it while offering that brand new support feeling. I now own several pairs, and I am wondering what the 2.0 version is going to be like. I can hardly wait. I am going to try the compression shirt as I am not getting any younger and the bursitis in my shoulders could use a little more support.

I love these shorts. I use them for workouts (especially leg and glute day and also HIIT). I even wear them under my jeans on trail rides. The support is great and I especially can tell with my quads and hamstrings. Other compression gear I've tried didn't truly compress the muscle and felt loose....these fit good and snug. Excellent quality.
